Our community deserves streets where everyone feels welcome and can move around safely! That’s why the City of Edmonds is partnering with the community to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP).
The City’s goal is to improve transportation safety in Edmonds by working towards the elimination of fatal and serious injury traffic crashes. As part of the planning process, the City is analyzing locations where crashes have occurred and gathering input on places where people feel unsafe walking, rolling, biking, or driving.
This planning effort will run from summer 2025 through early 2026 and will result in a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The plan will include strategies and actions for improving safety and a prioritized list of projects to address identified safety concerns. The completion of the Safety Action Plan will then make the City eligible to apply for future Safe Streets for All (SS4A) funding in order to implement those identified projects. The SS4A program is a Federal Initiative that provides funding to support regional, local, and tribal efforts aimed at preventing roadway deaths and serious injuries. Results from this summer’s community engagement activities-including the map and survey-will shape the first draft of the plan, which the community will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback in late 2025.
